Karzai Vows Probes of Afghans, Foreigners in Kabul Bank Collapse

Afghan President Hamid Karzai promised criminal investigations against units of consulting firms Deloitte LLP, BearingPoint Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for failures in helping to prevent fraud that undermined the country’s biggest bank.

Karzai named the companies as he vowed authorities will prosecute both Afghans and foreigners involved in the near collapse of Kabul Bank, a crisis that has stalled foreign aid upon which the government relies to operate.
