Japan’s government said it may impose legal limits to electric power use as policy makers prepare for shortages that are likely to worsen as the summer approaches.
Energy-supply constraints due to the damage to the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant following last month’s earthquake and tsunami mean the step must be considered, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said yesterday.
