Detroit’s Population Falls 25% to Lowest Level in a Century

The population in Detroit plunged 25 percent during the last decade, falling to the lowest level since 1910, according to 2010 Census figures.
The number of city residents fell to 713,777 last year, compared with 951,270 in 2000, the U.S. Census Bureau said today in Washington. The white population plunged 44.4 percent and the number of black residents fell 24 percent.
