Ex-Goldman Programmer Aleynikov Gets 8 Years for Code Theft

Ex-Goldman Sachs Group Inc. computer programmer Sergey Aleynikov was sentenced to eight years and one month in prison for stealing the firm’s computer source code.

U.S. District Judge Denise Cote imposed the sentence today in New York, where Aleynikov was convicted by a jury in December of violating the Economic Espionage Act and the Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property Act.
