Barratt Says First-Half Loss Shrunk on Higher Selling Prices

Barratt Developments Plc, the U.K.’s biggest homebuilder by volume, reported a narrower first-half loss after it increased average selling prices.

The net loss shrank to 9 million pounds ($15 million) in the six months through December from a loss of 127.4 million pounds a year earlier, the London-based company said today in a statement. Revenue was little changed at 878 million pounds. The average price for a Barratt home increased 5.7 percent to 175,800 pounds.
