One Equity Partners LLC, the buyout arm of JPMorgan Chase & Co., plans to invest $500 million in Brazilian companies over the next two years, Veronica Allende Serra, a private-equity consultant, said by telephone yesterday.

One Equity is in talks to invest in eight industrial, consumer-goods and energy companies, said Allende Serra, a partner at Pacific Investimentos, which represents One Equity in the South American country. She declined to name potential acquisition targets.
