Obama Resubmits Berwick Nomination to Senate for Medicare Post

President Barack Obama re-nominated Donald Berwick to be administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and Norman Eisen as ambassador to the Czech Republic.

Using recess appointments, Obama put both men into their respective positions last year after the Senate failed to act on confirming them. The procedure allows a president to fill a position without Senate confirmation when Congress isn’t in session.
