Ofgem Names Eight Bidders for U.K. Offshore Wind Farm Links

Ofgem, the U.K. energy regulator, named eight bidders competing to own and operate 1.09 billion pounds ($1.59 billion) of high-voltage transmission links connecting power from three offshore wind plants to land.
Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Ltd. and Hongkong Electric International Ltd. formed a joint bid for the competition that seeks to spur government plans for a U.K. offshore wind industry, according to a statement from Ofgem.
