Mets Sign Right-Hander Chris Young, Outfielder Scott Hairston

Former All-Star pitcher Chris Young signed a one-year contract with the New York Mets after missing parts of the past three seasons with arm injuries.
The Mets also signed free-agent outfielder Scott Hairston to a one-year contract, the team said in separate news releases. Financial terms of the contracts weren’t disclosed.
