Chalco Jumps Most in Three Months on Rare Earth Report

Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd., the nation’s largest producer of the metal, jumped the most in three months in Shanghai after China Business News reported the company’s parent plans to set up a rare-earth venture.

Shares of Chalco, as the company is called, surged 4.3 percent to 10.44 yuan, the most since Oct. 28. The stock, which has risen 3 percent this year, plunged 30 percent in 2010, twice as much as the Shanghai Composite Index’s 14 percent drop.
