Goldman Sachs Profit Slide Sends Asia-Pacific Bond Risk Higher

The cost of protecting Asia-Pacific bonds from default rose amid signs the U.S. housing sector is still struggling and after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. reported earnings that were weaker than expected.
The Markit iTraxx Asia index of 50 investment-grade borrowers outside Japan added two basis points to 109.5 basis points as of 10:52 a.m. in Singapore, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc prices show. The risk benchmark is heading for its biggest increase since Jan. 10, according to CMA in New York.
