Murdoch, Jobs Said to Unveil IPad News Publication

News Corp.’s Rupert Murdoch will introduce a tablet-computer news publication at an event next week with Apple Inc. Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs, according to a person familiar with the plan.
News Corp.’s Chairman and CEO Murdoch will unveil The Daily, a subscription product for Apple’s iPad tablet, at an event in San Francisco to be held as early as Jan. 19, said the person, who declined to be identified because the plans are private. A subscription will cost $1 a week, two people familiar with the matter said in November.
