Iran’s intelligence Ministry said it has dismantled a network of “Israeli spies” and arrested the main agents behind the assassination last year of an Iranian scientist, the state-run satellite news channel Press TV reported, citing a statement by the ministry.
Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, a professor of elementary particle physics, was killed by a bomb outside his Tehran home in January 2010. He was a member of a regional scientific program known as Sesame, which includes Israel as a member, according to the project’s website. Also in the group was Majid Shahriari, a scientist who had been involved in Iran’s nuclear program, and who was also killed in a Tehran bombing in November, local media then reported.
