Malawi will more than double its budget for HIV and AIDS drugs because the government is changing the medication it distributes after patients complained of side effects, Zodiak Broadcasting Station reported.

Spending will increase to $96 million this year from $38 million last year, the Lilongwe-based broadcaster said, citing Mary Shaba, principal secretary in the department of HIV/AIDS and nutrition.
