Turkey’s Erdogan Seeks World Cup Business in Qatar, Aksam Says

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will lead a delegation of 150 Turkish businessmen to Qatar next month in search of business related to the 2022 soccer World Cup, Aksam newspaper reported, citing the head of the Turkish Exporters’ Union, Mehmet Buyukeksi.
Erdogan will travel to the Gulf state January 9-12 to seek business for Turkish companies in construction, transportation and other fields as Qatar plans an estimated $50 billion in World Cup-related investments, the Istanbul-based paper reported. Trade between the two countries in 2010 will be about $250 million, the newspaper said.
