Nokia Siemens Wins Idea Contract After India Approval

Nokia Siemens Networks, the joint venture of Nokia Oyj and Siemens AG, won an order from India’s Idea Cellular Ltd. after getting security clearances from the South Asian country’s government.
New phone-license rules in India require vendors to submit equipment designs so they can be scanned for security threats and malware. The government allowed Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. of China in July to sell network equipment to local carriers after they agreed to such checks.
