Beatles’ Abbey Road Crosswalk Listed as Protected Site in U.K.

The London crosswalk made famous when the Beatles walked across it for the cover of their 1969 album “Abbey Road” was listed as a protected site by the U.K. government.
The street crossing in the St. John’s Wood neighborhood is the first of its kind ever to be listed as protected, John Penrose, the U.K.’s minister for tourism and heritage, said in a statement today.
