France can restrict non-biologists’ stakes in medical analysis laboratories to 25 percent and limit how many companies biologists can hold stakes in, Les Echos said today, citing a European Union Court of Justice ruling.

France was right to limit the role of non-medical professionals in the labs for fear profit rather than concern for patients would motivate decisions, the newspaper said, quoting yesterday’s decision.
