Barroso Says EU Leaders to Back Permanent Debt-Crisis Mechanism

European Commission President Jose Barroso comments on the political summit to be held on Dec. 16-17 in Brussels aimed at approving a permanent debt-crisis mechanism for the euro area.
Barroso spoke to the European Parliament today in Strasbourg, France. The commission is the 27-nation European Union’s executive arm. The EU’s national leaders gather as members of the European Council.
