Russian Prosecutors Call on Moscow to Replace Subway Chief

Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office called on the Moscow government to fire the long-time head of the subway system after a probe uncovered corruption and a rising number of injuries.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin should replace Dmitry Gayev, who served as head of the world’s second-busiest metro system after Tokyo for 15 years, because of concerns about finances and safety, prosecutors said today in an e-mailed statement.
