A Kenyan panel of inquiry has until June to investigate allegations of corruption and rights abuses against former Truth, Justice and Reconciliation Chairman Bethuel Kiplagat, Chief Justice Evan Gicheru said.

The three-member panel will explore matters in which Kiplagat is “likely to be a witness,” Gicheru said in The Kenya Gazette, the official publication for government notices, on Dec. 10. Allegations that Kiplagat was involved in “unethical practices” in the past may taint his credibility, he said.
