Japan Seeks 60,000 Tons of Foreign Rice in Tender

Japan is seeking to import 60,000 metric tons of rice in a tender on Dec. 14, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Of the total, the government plans to buy 13,000 tons from the U.S. and 11,000 tons from Thailand, with the remainder from any country, according to the ministry’s grain-trade division.
