Turkey November Motor Vehicle Output Rose 17 Percent
Turkey’s motor vehicle production increased an annual 17 percent to 89,642 units last month, the Automotive Manufacturers’ Association said.
November output was led by an increase of 26 percent annually in van and other commercial vehicle output to 44,189 units. Car production increased 9 percent to 45,453 units, the Istanbul-based group said in an e-mailed report today.
Motor vehicle exports dropped 7 percent from a year ago to 53,146 units, the association said.
Record-low interest rates are encouraging domestic spending even as demand slows in export markets in the European Union. Automotive production rose an annual 32 percent in October, according to industrial output figures released in Ankara yesterday.
