Gas earlier gained as much as 4.3 percent after the Energy Department said U.S. inventories rose 8 billion cubic feet in the week ended April 6 to 2.487 trillion cubic feet. Analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg showed a gain of 21 billion. The increase included a 10 billion-cubic-foot revision to stockpiles in producing regions.
