Netflix Inc, the mail-order and online movie-rental service, reached an all-time high in Nasdaq Stock Market trading after a surge in new customers boosted third-quarter sales and profit.

Netflix climbed $19.54, or 13 percent, to $172.69 at 4 p.m. New York time, eclipsing the previous record close of $170.63 set Sept. 29. Today’s rise was the most since April 22 for Netflix, which has more than tripled in value this year.
