Smart Wind Says It Has U.K. National Grid Connection, Times Says

The Smart Wind Consortium, a joint venture between a unit of Siemens AG and Mainstream Renewable Power Ltd., will today say it has secured a connection to the U.K.’s National Grid, boosting the prospects of its proposed 15 billion-pound ($24 billion) wind project being built off the coast of Yorkshire, England, the London-based Times reported, citing Andy Kinsella, the group’s chairman.
