Australia’s Prime Minister Julia Gillard said the nation needs a price on carbon to achieve its goals for emissions cuts, noting that industry needed certainty about the policy.

“We’re putting together a committee that is open to representatives of all sides of politics who agree that climate is real and that we need to price carbon in order to reach the targets that we’ve set ourselves in 2020,” Gillard said on Channel 10’s “Meet the Press” program today.
