India’s Supreme Court today asked the Karnataka state government to seek fresh applications from four companies, including JSW Steel Ltd., to lease iron ore mines within four months.

A two-judge panel headed by Justice P. Sathasivam overturned a ruling by the southern state’s high court and directed the provincial government to consider applications from JSW Steel, the nation’s third-largest producer, The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd., MSPL Ltd. and Kalyani Steels Ltd.
