South Africa is not expected to change targets of 26 percent black equity ownership of the country’s mines by 2014 when it releases a review of its Mining Charter today, Business Day said, without citing anyone.
At least 70 percent of the reviewed charter will have been covered in a tripartite deal signed at the end of June on sustainable growth and transformation for the industry, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said, citing Peter Leon, a mining lawyer at Webber Wentzel Bowens Inc.
