Igor, Season’s Strongest Storm, Likely No U.S. Threat

Igor, the Atlantic season’s most powerful hurricane, and Tropical Storm Julia won’t threaten the oil-rich U.S. Gulf and may miss the country entirely, forecasters said.
Igor, with winds of 150 miles (241 kilometers) per hour, and the weaker Julia behind it are both on tracks that will take them into the northern Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.
