Tropical Storm Hermine, near the western end of the Gulf of Mexico, is poised to make landfall tonight, forcing at least one Texas refinery to take precautions.
The weather system is the eighth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season and is off Mexico’s east coast with maximum sustained winds of about 65 miles (100 kilometers) per hour, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said in a website advisory just before 8 p.m. New York time.
