Merkel Prods Bundesbank Over Remarks on Jews, Muslims

German Chancellor Angela Merkel urged the Bundesbank to act on remarks by board member Thilo Sarrazin, saying his comments on Jews and Muslim immigrants are “completely unacceptable.”
Bundesbank President Axel Weber said the central bank will comment on the case today. Its “national and international reputation is clearly diminished by Mr. Sarrazin’s statements,” Steffen Seibert, Merkel’s chief spokesman, said in Berlin.
