Statoil ASA, Norway’s largest oil and natural gas producer, is seeking to buy assets and add licenses to its portfolio in offshore Brazil, Angola and U.S. shale gas areas.
“We wish to develop our portfolio in Brazil further, where we have a big position with Peregrino and we’ve done some exploration work,” Peter Mellbye, head of international development and production, said today in an interview in Stavanger, Norway. “It would be through licensing rounds or eventually if others want to sell themselves out.”
