Defense Secretary Liam Fox said he remained in discussions with Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne about the renewal of Britain’s Trident nuclear-missile system after the pair clashed over who should fund the project.

“In the long term how will it be paid for? It will be paid for ultimately, as it has been, directly via the defense budget,” Fox told reporters in London today. “How that budget is funded to take account of that is a conversation that is constantly ongoing with the Treasury.”
