Crude oil fell, capping its worst week in six, after sales at U.S. retailers rose less than forecast in July, a sign that economic growth is slowing.

Oil dropped to a one-month low as a lack of jobs prompted Americans to hold back on spending, according to figures from the Commerce Department. U.S. gasoline inventories increased for a seventh week last week, the government said on Aug. 11.
