Group of 20 protesters smashed windows at stores and office towers and set three police cars ablaze as thousands of people marched through Toronto in the biggest rally yet during meetings of global leaders.
Protesters wearing black masks and shirts set fire to police cars parked on Bay Street near the Bank of Montreal headquarters in the city’s financial district. Demonstrators also smashed windows at Commerce Court, where Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce is based. Marchers spray-painted slogans including “bomb the banks” on windows and along curbs.
