Showa Shell Solar Unit to Invest 13 Billion Yen in Panel Plant

Solar Frontier K.K., a unit of Japan’s Showa Shell Sekiyu K.K., will invest 13 billion yen ($125 million) to build a solar panel plant north of Tokyo.

The plant in Miyagi prefecture will have annual production capacity of 150 megawatts and will begin operating by March 2015, the company said in a statementBloomberg Terminal today.
