Rupert Hogg, chief executive officer of Swire’s most recognizable brand, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd., resigned Friday after a tumultuous week in which China’s air safety regulator threatened the carrier with a ban on overflying the mainland and state-owned enterprises promised a boycott. Cathay staff were warned they’d be fired for participating in “illegal protests” in Hong Kong.
