June 26 (Bloomberg) -- The liberal Justice Kennedy is inthe house -- at least for the moment.
Anthony Kennedy’s opinion for the U.S. Supreme Courtembraced most of the Obama administration’s view that Arizona’saggressive immigration laws are pre-empted by the federalgovernment’s power to determine who is or is not allowed in thecountry. For good measure, Kennedy also provided the decidingfifth vote to rule that mandatory life without parole formurderers under 18 violates the Constitution.
