Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh took the first step toward confirmation Tuesday by introducing himself to lawmakers as Democrats vowed to throw up roadblocks.
Kavanaugh met with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and was scheduled to meet with Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which will hold hearings on his nomination.
