Pence Asks Egypt, Jordan to Reach Out to Palestinians, Source Says

Vice President Mike Pence asked Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and King Abdullah of Jordan to reach out to Palestinian Authority leaders on behalf of the U.S., a person familiar with the matter said.

Pence, who’s traveling in the region, asked to the two leaders this weekend to tell the Palestinians that the U.S. is interested in restarting direct talks, the person said.
