The Trump administration is gearing up to investigate China over what the U.S. perceives to be violations of intellectual property, according to a person familiar with the matter.

U.S. officials are discussing ways to raise the pressure on China over IP issues, said an administration official, who spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because the investigation hasn’t been announced.
