We’ve reached Day 41 of this shutdown, which means it’s officially outlasted Noah’s flood, Amazon Prime’s free trial period, many celebrity marriages and the average incubation period for an ostrich egg. I hope for everyone’s sake — especially those who have gone without food assistance and paychecks — that we won’t need to update this embarrassing chart for much longer:
