Nvidia became the world’s first $5 trillion company on Wednesday, a milestone that is both wild and incomprehensible. Like, what is money anymore? Dave Lee informs us that it only took Jensen Huang’s chipmaker mere seconds — ok, fine, 16 weeks — to leapfrog from $4 trillion to $5 trillion, a crazy timeline no matter how you slice or dice it. Nvidia is powering so many businesses, it’s hard to keep track. There’s Uber and Lucid’s self-driving cars, CrowdStrike’s cybersecurity, Eli Lilly’s pharma research, Nokia’s AI-powered computers … the list of companies getting swept up in the AI “non-bubble” goes on.
