Florida Betrays Its Own Constitution to Draw New 2026 Maps
Florida lawmakers want to pick their own voters, thanks.

Under the Fair Districts amendments, approved by 63% of the state’s voters in 2010, the Florida Constitution prohibits redistricting plans “with the intent to favor or disfavor a political party or an incumbent.” Governor Ron DeSantis and his attorneys have said they think some of the provisions violate the Equal Protection Clause of the US Constitution and the entire amendment should be invalidated.
