China's President Xi Jinping has a message for Donald Trump: Taiwan is none of your business.
He’s making that clear by hosting the island’s opposition leader Cheng Li-wun, chairwoman of the Kuomintang, for a rare visit to the mainland. Starting Tuesday, she will travel to Jiangsu, Shanghai and Beijing in the first such visit by a KMT leader since 2016. Notably, this trip comes barely a month before the US president is scheduled to travel to Beijing for his own summit.
