The mayors of many of America’s largest cities are worried.

Not only have they had it rough under President Donald Trump, who continues to threaten to carry out heavy-handed deportation raids on urban streets. But now, they worry his administration will make undocumented immigrants so fearful that they’ll stop paying income and property taxes — cutting off a source of much-needed revenue at a time of massive budget deficits and fiscal challenges.
