The dominant storyline in corporate America right now is that activism is dead.

The CEOs who stood up to President Donald Trump during his first administration have gone quiet, fearful of targeted attacks and retaliation. And the employees who pushed their bosses to take a stand during Trump 1.0 have also retreated, afraid of losing their jobs in a tight labor market and silenced by a shift away from a workplace culture that encouraged free expression.
