Enjoy the Good Inflation News While You Can
Uncertainty over tariffs will still leave the Fed reluctant to cut rates.

Great news to start the day! US inflation had a positive surprise for a change, with the headline consumer price index rising by 2.8% in the 12 months to February, compared to January’s 3.0% and an expected 2.9%. Once food and energy are excluded, the “core” measure came in at 3.1%, which was similarly below expectation (3.2%) and January’s outcome (3.3%).
