Asian tech will be in the firing line again in the new year. The most successful international app from China is now barreling toward an unprecedented US ban, and a looming trade war will intensify an already bitter battle between Washington and Beijing. AI hype will inevitably face some hard realities, but that hasn’t stopped industry players from fanning its flames. And the region is leading the global charge to hold social media companies accountable.
Here are some of the themes I’ll be keeping a close eye on in 2025.
